At your meetingThe Weight Watchers programme is unique; it is about sharing your weight loss with people who understand what you are going through. At your meeting, you’ll find a group of people - your Leader, the meeting team and other members - who’ve already learnt or are learning how to lose weight, and who are now discovering what works to maintain those losses long term.
There will be people just starting their weight-loss journey as well. You’ll hear stories of success, tales of challenges, solutions, encouragement and applause.
Your Leader has successfully lost weight with the support of Weight Watchers and looks forward to helping you achieve your goals too. The weekly meetings are central to the programme's success. In fact, people who attend Weight Watchers meetings lose 3 times more weight than those who go it alone*.

The Getting Started SessionWelcome to Weight Watchers and to your very first meeting. The Getting Started Session is an important time for you as this is where your Weight Watchers Leader will explain the Weight Watchers programme, help you to get started in your very first week and answer any questions you may have. By the end of the Getting Started Session you will know exactly what you will need to focus on in your first week on the Weight Watchers programme to ensure a successful & sustainable weight-loss journey.
The Getting Started Session generally takes 10-15 minutes and week 1 starts shortly after the advertised start time so be sure to arrive at your meeting right on time so that you can participate.
When you return to your meeting the following week your Leader will spend more time with you in the week 2 Getting Started Session to talk through your very first week on the programme and to answer any additional questions you may have. This will take place after the meeting. |
The confidential weigh-inDuring your week 1 Getting Started Session you’ll be weighed confidentially by one of the Weight Watchers meeting team. Once you’ve decided to lose weight, holding yourself accountable is essential to achieving weight-loss success. That’s the purpose of the confidential weigh-in. The weigh-in is a way to help you stay on track, and stay motivated. |
Exclusive plan materialsEach week, you’ll receive Weight Watchers programme material developed by the experts at Weight Watchers. Each weeks book is titled ‘My Week’ and covers a different weight-loss topic, which will link to the topic discussion in your meeting. You’ll also receive further programme books for the first seven weeks of your membership, and three further books when you reach your Goal weight.
Your Leader will also recommend additional books to you along the way. You’ll also get exclusive access to Weight Watchers products and tools that will help you on your way, such as cookbooks, snack foods, electronics and much more.

Get weekly discussion topics and adviceEach meeting is a discussion guided by your Leader, with a new topic every time. As an example, the topic might be strategies for curbing stress eating, and the next week might focus on favourite foods and recipes.
You’ll gather insights from the group and contribute your own - or just listen; you can contribute as much or as little as you feel comfortable. This combined with the insights of the Leader and the individuals within the group make each meeting unique.
During your meeting discussions, you’ll talk about what works and laugh about what doesn’t. Meetings are a great place to ask questions – any question you ask, you can be sure there are other members interested to know the answer. |
